Orban says NATO wants to create Three Military Bases in Europe

NATO is seeking to create military bases in Poland, Romania and Slovakia as part of a mission to coordinate arms deliveries to Ukraine, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said.

“The alliance wants to start a so-called NATO mission in Ukraine. This means that NATO will coordinate the transfer of weapons that are delivered to Ukraine,” Orban told Radio “Košut”.

He specified that these are three large military bases from which weapons will be transferred to Ukraine, as well as among the members of the Alliance.

Earlier, Orban said that Europe is preparing for war with Russia. Orban, who has close ties to Vladimir Putin, said every week there were more signs that Europe was preparing for military action.

“Going to war does not happen in one step,” he said, adding that Europe is increasingly drawn into the war in Ukraine.

“There are three stages: discussion, preparation and destruction. We are now concluding the discussion and are in the preparatory phase. We are a few centimeters away from destruction,” he said, according to Sky News.

Despite condemnations and opposition to the Russian invasion across the European Union, Orban has tried to strengthen bilateral relations with Moscow.

He has opposed many EU initiatives to support Ukraine in resisting Moscow’s forces, while posing for a photo with Putin in October last year.

Orban was the only Western leader to congratulate Putin on his re-election, despite some EU ministers calling the vote a sham.
