A desire of one mother to buy her son a toy that will be fun, but also educational, and which will be of much use to the little boy led to the creation of interesting and useful picture books HAGI.
“I wanted to buy my son a toy that will be fun, but also educational, which will facilitate the development of tactile and visual perception, of fine and rough motor skills, that will develop his imagination and creativity. When I could not find everything I imagined, I decided to make a picture book as I would like it to be,” said Lamija Beganović-Uzunović, a creative mom from Zenica.
Before she even finished the first one, Lamija’s friend had already ordered one for her daughter.
“I posted pictures on Facebook and orders came one after another. Everyone accepted HAGI with delight because that is truly something new in the area,” said Lamija.
Inspiration and creativity come from the love for children and their upbringing. Lamija speaks to everyone who orders this interesting book, they talk about the child’s interests, so that is one of the ways in which the new pages are created. As Lamija says, it is very important to keep children away from TV and computers by offering them a colorful and fun alternative because who remembers the best day spent in front of television?
“The picture book is intended to stimulate the early development of children through play and fun, as well as to facilitate the mastering of some skills that are routine for the adults but very complicated for kids, such as tying the laces, buttoning, zipping and unzipping and many other things,” Lamija said.
Designing one picture book is a long process which requires full commitment over several days.
“I have always been doing some handiwork, but this is the first time that the useful and pleasant came together. When I look at the videos and photos sent by parents I realize that the biggest reward is the happiness and joy on the faces of the kids while they enjoy playing with their HAGI picture book,” mom Lamija said proudly.
HAGI picture books found their way to the USA, Sweden, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic and Croatia.
