The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić, met, at the seat of the government in Sarajevo, with the Regional Director of the World Bank for the Western Balkans, Xiaoqing Yu, who is on a three-day visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the meeting, which was also attended by the head of the World Bank’s office for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro Christopher Sheldon, the interlocutors discussed the implementation of reform projects supported by the World Bank in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Prime Minister Novalić thanked for the successful cooperation and reminded of the significant reforms initiated in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Among them is the financial consolidation and restructuring of public health institutions, for which the FBiH Government allocated 150 million BAM from the FBiH Budget in the past two years.

“Therefore, the World Bank’s Health Sector Support Project of 60 million dollars for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is of great importance to us. The government continues to work on improving the health system and ensuring better conditions for citizens,” Novalić said.

In recent days, the World Bank Board has approved a Program Loan for the development policy of the health sector to our country, which will be aimed at improving the financial sustainability of the healthcare system and improving the quality of services to citizens.

During the conversation about the role of this financial institution in the further development of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Director Yu expressed her satisfaction that the World Bank provided support for strategic reforms in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She also announced the continuation of support for projects that are of key importance for economic development.

“I want to thank you and the Government of the Federation of BiH for the close cooperation and for the things we managed to do in the past period,” said director Yu.
