A group of 5 interns of the Post-Conflict Research Center (PCRC) in Sarajevo visited the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday. Young, enthusiastic interns come from all over the world to help the operation of the Post-Conflict Research Center in Sarajevo. During their stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the interns will visit numerous institutions in order to better understand the country’s history, operation of the institutions and the process of building peace and reconciliation.

In the framework of their visit to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the trainees had the opportunity to talk to a legal advisor from the Legal Department of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who presented to them a detailed overview of the Court’s organization, jurisdictions and operation, while his colleague legal advisor presented the results of Section I for War Crimes. The interns also met the Head of the Court’s Witness Support Section and learned more about her team’s method of operation and the specificities of treatment of witnesses who testify before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a view of providing technical support to the witnesses – victims of sexual violence.

The interns asked numerous questions and were rather interested in learning more about the Court’s work. At the end of the visit, the interns voiced their gratitude for the professional organization of the visit and the useful information they received.
