Srebrenica Vukovar Peace March starts Today

The organization of demobilized soldiers of the Army of Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Srebrenica municipality, in cooperation with the Association of Drina Srebrenica, is organizing for the third time this year the Peace March of Srebrenica – Vukovar.

The goal of the Peace March of Srebrenica-Vukovar is to pay tribute to the victims of Vukovar, to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide and to other innocently killed victims, with the message that the crimes will never happen again, anywhere.

It is planned that the participants of the March of Peace will travel about 340 kilometers from Srebrenica to Vukovar in seven days.

According to the organizers, the idea for the Srebrenica-Vukovar Peace March emerged as a moral obligation for survivors of the Srebrenica genocide, given that, for several years now, citizens of Vukovar and other cities in Srebrenica have been participating in commemorating the anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks from Srebrenica. Of the Republic of Croatia, who, through their participation in the Nezuk-Potocari Peace March and other activities, pay tribute to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide.

Departure is Monday, November 11th, from the Potocari Memorial Center, and the arrival of participants of the Peace March in Vukovar is planned for Monday, November 18th.
