The play “Skupština”, which represents the parliamentarian political scene in B&H, directed by Selma Spahić will have its premiere on Friday, 21 February at the National Theater in Sarajevo.
This play is a joint production of the National Theater in Sarajevo, Sarajevo War Theater SARTR and Kamerni Theater 55, which is the first such collaboration of three Sarajevo theaters.
18 actors will play in this show and the Opera choir of Sarajevo National Theater will participate as well.
The director Selma Spahic said today at a press conference that the play is created based on the idea that theater deals with public responsibility, and also with the action of citizens to create a better future. She pointed out that the play addresses the parliamentary sessions since 1908, when the first B&H parliament was held, but still the focus is on the last 20 years in B&H.
“This play raises many topics, from basic human rights to civilization achievements. We dealt with everyday politics and our role in all this. This play is a social answer to the political situation and it does not take any political sides”, she emphasized.
The focus is on the Representative House of the B&H Parliamentary Assembly.
