Prices of Products and Services used for personal Consumption in BiH record Increase

Prices of products and services used for personal consumption in Bosnia and Herzegovina, measured by the consumer price index, in October were on average two percent higher than in September this year.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages are on average 1.5 percent more expensive, alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 0.1 percent, clothing and footwear by 1.9 percent, and housing by 5.7 percent, the BiH Statistics Agency stated in the report.

Household furniture and appliances are on average one percent more expensive, transportation 3.5 percent more expensive, education 0.2 percent more expensive, restaurants and hotels 1.4 percent more expensive, and other goods and services 0.6 percent more expensive.

The price level in October compared to the same month last year was higher by 4.3 percent. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are on average 6.7 percent more expensive, alcoholic beverages and tobacco 1.9 percent more expensive, housing costs two percent more expensive, and furniture, household appliances and regular housekeeping 2.4 percent more expensive.

The average price increase was also recorded in health care by 0.9 percent, transport by 13.5 percent, recreation and culture by 1.4 percent, education by 0.2 percent, then in the section restaurants and hotels by 1.8 percent, and other goods and services by 1.3 percent. The average drop in prices was recorded in the clothing and footwear sections by 8.7 percent, and communications by 0.3 percent.
