The District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka formed a case based on the report of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, against the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt.

The Prosecutor’s Office said that, after the report was submitted on July 7, the Prosecutor’s Office formed a case against Schmidt, Srna news agency reported.

In the application, it was stated that “for a long period of time, starting from August 1, 2021, Schmidt is dealing with the affairs of the high representative without authorization, for which there is no appointment decision from the competent authority”.

As stated, the report was also filed because “Schmidt continuously, with the intention of causing damage to Republika Srpska, falsely presents himself as an official, i.e. as a high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, knowing that he was not appointed in accordance with Annex 10 of the Agreement on civil implementation of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a result of which it cannot have the legitimacy and authority to make a legally valid decision”.
