A prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed an indictment against Medaris Begovic, born in 1991 in Sarajevo, a citizen of BiH.

The accused is charged that in September 2018, after coming into possession of a large quantity of counterfeit banknotes in denominations of 20 BAM each, in a manner known to him, with the intention of placing them on the market, he tried to place the counterfeit money in circulation in business-sales facilities in the area of the Municipality of Pale.

The accused put one counterfeit banknote into circulation when paying a bill at a petrol station, left the premises and took M19 road Han Derventa-Podromanija. At the moment he was stopped by police officers of the PS Sokolac, the accused threw the counterfeit banknotes through the window of the car he operated.

The accused is charged with the criminal offence of Counterfeiting of Money under Article 205, (1) and (2) of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
