Protests scheduled for Today at Noon in front of the National Museum

New protests have been announced for today at 12 noon in Sarajevo due to the tram accident in which Erdoan Morankić (23) was killed and Ella Jovanović (17) was seriously injured.

The call for today’s protests calls on high school and college students to gather in front of the National Museum at 12 noon. They emphasize that it is important to show unity, solidarity and presence.

They believe that today students and university students should replace school desks with gatherings on the streets. Protests have also been organized on the streets of Sarajevo for the previous three days.

The organizers, as stated by an informal group of students, listed their demands on the Instagram pages “hocel.ta.promjena” and “pravda.promjena.ba”.

The first demand is to publish full and complete information about the investigation, including data on tram servicing and a camera recording from the tram at the time of the accident.

The second is to withdraw all old trams until they have undergone re-service, and to make the data on their serviceability publicly available. Under three are the resignations of all those responsible in a series of the entire public transport system. Under four is the construction of quality and safe public transport.

Let us remind you that yesterday the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo rejected the request of the CS Prosecutor’s Office to order the detention of tram driver Adnan Kasapović. On the same day, CS Prime Minister Nihad Uk resigned, bringing down the cantonal government.
