Djapo QatarMinister of Environment and Tourism of BiH Edita Djapo met with the Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Agriculture of Qatar Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi in Doha, as announced by this ministry.

On that occasion, they exchanged their mutual experiences, talked about the current cooperation and mentioned opportunities for its further expansion in different areas. In the open conversation, Minister Al Rumaihi noted that the citizens of Qatar keep BiH in their hearts and have special feelings towards our country. That is why the economic cooperation between the two countries has to be intensified on their mutual satisfaction.

Regarding this, Minister Al Rumaihi expressed interest of Qatar for the import of raw meat and meat products from BiH, as well as fruits and vegetables. He also noted the fact that meat from South America to Qatar travels up to 17 hours, and it could be shipped from BiH in 4 to 5 hours, of course, with the announced establishment of a direct airline between Doha and Sarajevo.

“We should establish a good cooperation. Tens of tons of meat could be placed in Qatar from Sarajevo on a daily basis,” stated Djapo.

When it comes to tourism, BiH represents an attractive destination for citizens of the Gulf countries since their traditional resorts are not safe. Djapo said that BiH should use this opportunity and provide high-quality service to these extremely rich tourists.

“BiH has a natural beauty that is just breathtaking, it is also rich in cultural heritage and quality, halal cuisine, and everything else that tourists from this part of the world need. They can go to sea from the area of mountain tourism in just a few hours or enjoy extreme sports, or simply relax next to the river and lakes, depending on their own preference. We are just a perfect destination for them and we should use that opportunity,” emphasized Djapo.

“Minister Al Rumaihi mentioned the possibility for BH companies to participate in tenders for the construction and projecting of roads and highways and getting valuable deals,” said Djapo after the meeting with Qatari minister.

Qatar also has a leading role in environmental protection in the Gulf countries and they agreed to connect funds for environmental protection between the two countries and noted possibilities of cooperation in various projects. Qatar is willing to finance concrete projects and further improve cooperation between experts from these two countries. Minister Al Rumaihi accepted the invitation of Minister Djapo to visit our country soon.
