Residents of Podgora have a Special Message for Politicians: Welcome Liars

There are also those who are fed up with promises, especially big ones – pre-election ones. And that’s why they don’t want politicians in their region for years. You may be familiar with the story.

We believe that you have heard about the settlement of Podgora in Breza.

Locals remained consistent, and this, as well as previous elections, have the same message for politicians: Welcome, liars!

They don’t want to watch political plays because the outcome is already known.

“Everyone comes here and promises and four years pass and nothing happens to anyone. Then others come again, again four years and nothing to anyone,” says local resident Vedad Silajdžić.

The united locals came into the public eye with their move. They were talked about, pictures of the village went around the country and beyond. This was followed by the government’s response. The placement of the banner was investigated by the police and then by the court. However, this did not discourage the residents of Podgora, so they did not change their previously stated position.

“God knows not what has changed. They listened, they saw, and we had problems with that, someone evaluated us somehow differently, someone differently. Basically, everything we achieved after that is thanks to our youth, our people”, says Zijo.

“Report to Komunalno that we have a problem. Nobody pays attention to it. Water flows as it flows. The pipe broke 15 days ago, no one is contacting me. We are cut off from everything,” adds Vedad.

The municipality and the canton provide only a small, insignificant amount of help. In order to solve infrastructure projects, more is needed. However, aware that they are left to their own , the residents of this village started to build a better and more beautiful place for themselves, with small steps. They will not return the banner because, they say, they have shown that they can do without politicians. Once a message has been sent, it’s enough for smart people, say the residents of Podgora.
