Lunch restaurant Lonato opened on Friday at Mostar’s Center for Children and Youth with Special Needs “Los Rosales”.

The restaurant was created with the desire and effort to accept the young people with special needs exactly as they are, and to be involved in every segment of life, that is, through their work, to provide themselves with better conditions for the future.

They embarked on the challenge of opening a restaurant to the public in which young people with disabilities would be given employment opportunities and thus given the opportunity to feel like full members of society. Embassies of the United Kingdom and the Netherlands will also contribute to the project.

Los Rosales director Mirna Mezit points out that it is all part of a project started three years ago.

Six disabled people with two waiters and one chef, will work there. If people recognize the quality of their work, it may give them new opportunities.  Some of the social enterprise’s activities are souvenir production and CNC machine work.  Los Rosales today has 30 users up to 40 years old, Vijesti.ba news portal reports.
