Returnees to Podrinje built a House for Brothers

People of goodwill with pure hearts, ready to help still exist. They are rare, but there are some of them left, somewhere among us. This time, the returnees to Podrinje organized a humanitarian action, and after collecting funds, they voluntarily started building a house for the Selimovic brothers from Kalesija.

Built in the middle of the last century, this old, dilapidated house was all that the brothers Jasmin and Admir Selimovic from Kalesija have, in which they remained to live after their mother’s death. Poor health, even poorer financial status, in an old housewith the cold stone walls, they were just somehow making ends meet.

“I lived with my mother (while she was alive) and older brother. Now it’s hard without her. I was sitting with my brother and went to prepare water for coffee and when I moved, the ceiling fell. If I hadn’t moved, I wouldn’t be here anymore, “ said Admir.

“I came here to visit them, brought them some help when I saw all of it – it was a disaster, it is not appropriate for people to live here. Then I consulted with my family, to help them. And I would say that we from Republika Srpska (RS) wanted we are to help the people in the Federation, ” noted Mehmed Ademovic, donor and initiator of the action.

Humane people, from Glodi and Kamenica, soon organized themselves and visited them. With the funds raised by the donation, but above all pure heart and goodwill, they came in an organized manner and started the construction of a new residential building.

“People came to see us, went into the old house and said – we can renovate this, but it would be more expensive, you better build it again. I agreed, and so did older brother,” Jasminmentioned.

“I suggested, since it is their house, that we build a new facilityaround the old one. They couldn’t believe it – Podrinje people tocome here and point out such a possibility in order to help someone and build a facility. They started to doubt and didn’t believe that it was possible. We have truly convinced them that we can do it, “ told Rahman Nukic, a participant in the action.

In just a month, the house was finished. Rough work these days is coming to an end. But they will not leave them there. Theywill stay with them until the end and help them equip the interior as well.
