Safety and Protection of Children in Online Environment in BiH

UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with representatives of successful companies, launched the Business Advisory Council (BAC), which will act as a business platform in the best interest of every child.

At the first meeting of the Council, which was held today in Sarajevo, it was concluded that the Council will work on the safety and protection of children in the online and offline environment, mental health, and the development of skills for a smooth transition from education to the working environment.

“We met with partners from the private sector from the IT industry, retail, banking and other areas, and we agreed to focus our cooperation on several areas, primarily education, developing skills in children and protecting the mental health of children and young people,” told FENA after the meeting, the chairwoman of the Council and representative of UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rownak Khan.

The Council members shared knowledge about concrete, sustainable and responsible initiatives that should lead to the improvement of children’s lives.

The members of the Business Advisory Council are part of the management of companies from the IT, banking, production and trade sectors, namely: Bit Alijansa (Damir Maglajlić), m:tel, Banjaluka (Dr. Jelena Trivan), MasterCard (Amir Trokić), ProCredit Bank BiH (Amina Durmo Trlin), NLB Bank Banjaluka (Goran Babić), Raiffeisen Bank (Amra Tabaković), Addiko Bank Sarajevo (Emir Jildizlar), Violeta (Ante Miloš) and DM (Admira Isaković).

At the meeting today, representatives of these companies discussed their responsible practices and business policies that focus on children and families and got acquainted with the outline work plan of UNICEF and the Business Advisory Council for the coming period.
