Ambassador of Palestine in Bosnia and Herzegovina Rezeq Namoora received today the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk, who on this occasion sent expressions of sympathy and offered the help of the Government of Sarajevo Canton to reduce the suffering of the people in occupied Gaza.
Prime Minister Uk said that he follows the news from Gaza with great sadness, and that he was especially moved after the information about the bombing of the hospital. Such sufferings, he stated, are well known to the inhabitants of Sarajevo, and he asked the ambassador to express the needs, so that the Canton of Sarajevo could react, when the conditions are met.
As Ambassador Namoora stated, it is currently not possible to deliver any humanitarian aid, given that all borders are closed, and he added that even foreign citizens cannot leave Gaza, including, according to the ambassador’s information, 22 citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ambassador Namoora thanked Prime Minister Uk for the expressions of support and offered help. He said that the people of Palestine are in constant fear of persecution and murder, that they are exposed to various types of crimes, and that expressions of solidarity from friendly Sarajevo and BiH mean a lot to them.
He pointed out that the Palestinians are a very educated people, that education is extremely important to them, and stated that the Canton of Sarajevo could help in that segment, when the situation in Gaza calms down. Prime Minister Uk supported that idea and reminded that until now many Palestinians were educated in Sarajevo, especially medics.
The interlocutors parted with the wish that the persecution and murders in the occupied Gaza stop as soon as possible and that they meet soon on a better occasion, it was announced from the Protocol and Press Service of Canton Sarajevo.
