Muslims throughout BiH remember Prophet’s birth, life and mission of calling in belief in one God by reciting mawlid, nasheeds and prayers.

Central mawlid celebration in BiH was held in the Emperor’s Mosque in Sarajevo. This special program was held as part of “Selam Ya Resulallah” which will last until the 29th of December.

Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h was born on the 12th of Rabi-al-Awwal 571 years BC. This day is one of the most important for all Muslims of the world.

With the traditional ceremony organized by the Majlis of the Islamic community in Sarajevo is marked the birth month of Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h.

Muhammad p.b.u.h. also came from Mecca to Medina on the 12th of Rabi-al-Awwal, and he died exactly on that date, thus this date is certainly significant for the world’s history.

Abdullah, the father of Muhammad p.b.u.h. died while he was not born yet, and his mother passed away when Muhammad was only six years old.
