Sarajevo: Construction of the Sewerage System to start

Sewerage System novigradsarajevo.baThe contracts on the construction of the fecal sewerage system in the Jajacka Street in Svrakino Selo and a separate sewerage network in the Street of Amir Krupalija in Buca Potok were signed yesterday in the Municipality Novi Grad Sarajevo.

The contracts were signed by the municipal Mayor Semir Efendic and Ibro Manjic and Maja Bralović – Smith, the directors of construction companies “Manjo” and “Mibral”, which were selected as contractors.

More than 400.000 BAM were allocated in the budget of the Municipality Novi Grad for these construction works.

In Jajacka Street, a fecal sewerage network in length of around 750 meters will be constructed, after which about 50 households that are currently using the improvised sewerage network will be connected to the newly constructed sewerage system. For these works around 270.000 BAM were allocated, while 134.000 BAM were allocated for the works in the Street of Amir Krupalija.

By the realization of these projects, the residents of the abovementioned streets will finally, for the first time, be provided the connection of the residential buildings to the legal sewerage system.

“The mentioned projects are of great importance for the residents of these neighborhoods, where the need to the construction of a sewerage network exists for more than ten years. When it comes to the construction of the separate sewerage network in the Street of Amir Krupalija which will be connected to the Street of Hamed Hodovic, after the completion of the primary separate sewerage network through the Street of Adem Buca the prerequisites were created so that the sewerage network in this big neighborhood can be connected to that recipient. Through this contract, around first 200 meters of the fecal and precipitation sewerage network will be constructed”, stated the Mayor Efendic.
