Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Mirko Sarovic said that the EU Food and Health Audit, after visiting BiH at the end of September and early October, announced a report by which four BH companies are ready to export chicken and chicken products to the EU.

He emphasized that the export license for BiH should be published in the upcoming weeks, and the exact deadline will depend on procedures in the European Commission.

”This report is a confirmation that we have worked well over the past two years and that the facilities and the whole system have been developed and fulfilled the conditions given in 2012 when it comes to obtaining an EU number for this important product, “ said Sarovic.

He explained that when the BH production control system for chicken and chicken products gets an export license, a number of companies that could export are unlimited, and he is sure that there are 10 to 15 recognized companies in BiH that could export chicken to the EU.

Sarovic stated that the ministry made preparations for obtaining licenses for the export of eggs to the EU, which could happen relatively soon, as well as red meat which may require a more complex process.
