govor-mrznje-internetSarajevo – the Council of Europe organized a debate about “Hate speech on the Internet: What is our answer?” within the SFF.

The Council of Europe is running a campaign for dignity, equality, human rights and diversity on the Internet, especially when it comes to young people and topics like cyber-hate or cyber-violence. This debate was organized because of it.

The opening speech was held by Mary Ann Hennessey, the head of the Office of the Council of Europe in B&H, who, in front of many young people, spoke about the Council’s aspirations to prevent hate-speech on the Internet, especially among young people.

She stated that the Office of the Council of Europe wouldn’t be able to prevent this phenomenon without the help of the young enthusiasts coming from all over B&H and working actively on this problem.

Within the debate, two clips showing this phenomenon were screened as well.

The debate is also supported by ELSA – European Law Students Association and the Youth Organization Motus Adolescenti and by young activists around B&H and the region.
