Collecting passports has become a status symbol for wealthy people in the world and those who just like to travel. According to the global rating of passports for 2017, Singapore has the strongest passport in the world, while Bosnia and Herzegovina is 46th out of 94 countries.

According to the global rating of passports created by Arton Capital, the countries are ranked according to the visa-free regime, that is, according to the number of countries in which their citizens can travel without a visa and in which they will soon be able to travel without a visa. For example, the Singaporean passport has a rating of 159, and the BiH passport a rating of 101. It is interesting that this is the first time that an Asian country took the first place on the list.

Last year, BiH was 52nd, while four years ago we took 42nd place in the global rating of the passport. In any case, BiH citizens can stay in 77 countries for five to 90 days with just a passport, while citizens of 96 countries can freely visit BiH.

The country with the second strongest passport in the world is Germany, followed by Sweden, South Korea, Denmark, Finland, Italy, France, Spain, Norway, Japan, etc. Micronesians have a stronger passport than Bosnians, while Paluau has the same rating as BiH.

When it comes to the countries from our region, the only Albanian passport is weaker than the Bosnian one and is 47th place. Serbia has a stronger passport than our country and ranks 38th in the list with 113 points. Montenegro is 43rd, Macedonia is 41st, while Croatia is 14th place and ranked position next to Brazil with a rating of 144 for visa-free regime.

The British can freely enter 156 countries and Americans in 154. The worst passports in the world are those of Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan and Syria. Those without visas can travel to only about twenty countries of the world.

We recall that in the past months the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH has been working to abolish visas for Morocco, China, Peru and Japan to those BiH citizens who have diplomatic, official and special passports. It is also in the process of abolishing visas for traveling to China to BiH citizens with ordinary passports. Soon, both Pakistani and BiH could be mutually abolished visas for those citizens who have diplomatic and official passports.
