State Investigation and Protection Agency confiscated one Hundred Kilograms of Marijuana

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) on Sunday (on November 24th, 2019) in the locality of Trebinje, in cooperation with police officers of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, carried out an operative action code-named ‘’A1’’, during which they found and seized about 100 kilograms of narcotic drugs.

‘’During the operation, there was a search of a motor vehicle, driven by a citizen of the Republic of Montenegro, in which there were found 100 bags which were temporarily seized, because they contained nn substance that, by its appearance and structure, appears to be a narcotic drug cannabis sativa weighing about 100 kilograms. Furthermore, a mobile phone with its sim card, a motor vehicle with an upgraded tank in which narcotic drugs and other objects that can be used for further criminal proceedings evidence, were found,’’ a SIPA statement said.

The driver of a motor vehicle was arrested on grounds of suspicion that he had committed the criminal offence referred to in Article 250 of the Criminal Act of BiH ‘’Organized Crime’’, connected with the criminal offence referred to in Article 195. “Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs” of the same act.

After criminal processing at the SIPA premises, the arrested person will be handed over to the competent Prosecutor of BiH Prosecutor’s Office for further action.

The activities of this operation were carried out at the command of the Court and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, in cooperation with the police officers of the Border Police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska (RS), and officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, radiosarajevo.ba portal reports.
