Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina are carrying out operational action “Luna”, as part of which they search business, residential buildings and movable property in several locations in the Banja Luka area.

The premises of the Health Insurance Fund of the Republika Srpska and the company “Medietik” in Banja Luka are being searched in connection with the illegality of entering into contracts in connection with the public procurement of medical equipment during the corona virus pandemic, said the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the RS.

Unofficially, SRNA learns that Dejan Kusturić, the director of the Fund, is also a suspect, due to suspicion of abuse of official position or authority and unscrupulous work in the service. According to the media, he is suspected of concluding millions of contracts between the Health Insurance Fund and the company “Medietik” during the pandemic.

“The aforementioned activities are carried out due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of ‘Abuse of official position or authority’ is prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Republika Srpska,” SIPA announced.

It is added that the searches are carried out by order of the District Court in Banja Luka and under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the RS, in cooperation with the police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS.
