Speleologists found Shells from the War, Animal Bones and a lot of Garbage in the Pits

Nine members of the Speleological Society Mijatovi dvori from Tomislavgrad used the Saturday holiday’s pleasant spring weather to explore two speleological objects on the Grabovicka plateau near Tomislavgrad.

Speleologists from Tomislavgrad Josip Markovic, Domagoj Madunic, Mario Sucic, Ivan Bakovic, Mijo Dumancic, Niko Sarac, Vinko Sarac, Mirko Sarac and Boze Markovic took part in the research.

As they said from the mentioned Speleological Society, the first in line was Soljkova pit, which was partially explored during last year’s expedition, and a speleological plan was prepared for it on that occasion, according to which the total depth is 45 meters, with an entrance vertical of 20 meters and with 196 meters cave channels.

“Due to its uniqueness, the desire was to visit it and explore once more. And it was a good decision. A beautifully carved pit with a multitude of stalactites, stalagmites, columns, curtains, salves, helictites was the right bait to remind us of the beauty of speleology,” speleologists pointed out.

“What saddens us is the large number of bones of domestic animals such as cows, horses, goats and dogs. In addition to all that, the first thing we saw at the entrance was the waste, as if someone had thrown five full wardrobes of goods into a pit. And under the trash, mine explosive devices such as trombones, hand grenades and improvised devices were hidden,” it was said fromthe Speleological Society Mijatovi dvori.

They took out full bags of garbage from that pit and say that there is still so much left and that they intend to clean it after the mines and explosive devices are removed from the pit, Klix.ba reports.
