statehood day CroatiaThe Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia was marked last night in Sarajevo, and the reception was attended by representatives of political, economic, and cultural life of BiH, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and religious communities.

On the reception, the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Dragan Covic noted that the Euro-Atlantic path of BiH is one of the top priorities and that he believes that the delegation of BiH, which is currently residing in Brussels, will bring good news about the fact that “we need a little to show what we want, to fill our ranks within BiH and that our commitment to this Euro-Atlantic path simply has no other alternative.”

He is aware that BiH is going through a series of temptations, and he noted that there is wisdom and that the equality of its three constituent peoples will lead it to the European path, as well as the strengthening of internal relations when it comes to economic and social politics.

The Ambassador of Croatia to BiH, Ivan Del Vechio, stated that Croatia and BiH have excellent relations, which was confirmed by a large number of meetings that were held at the highest level.

He said that, after fulfilling its tasks, the main goal of Croatia is helping other candidate countries to achieve EU membership, especially BiH. He expressed the belief that BiH will fulfill all of its tasks and receive the status of the candidate country in the next year. He also expressed his desire to continue good relations between the two countries, as well as peace and stability in the region.

The Statehood Day of the Republic of Croatia is marked on June 25, on the date when the Parliament of Croatia made the Constitutional decision on the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Croatia and declared the Republic of Croatia as an autonomous and independent state.
