The newly appointed vice-president of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Stojanović, is of the opinion that “the new Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be without the Party of Democratic Action”.
“ I can’t tell you anything precisely. It is clear to everyone that the second vice-president of the Federation of BiH, Refik Lendo, will not give his consent. This will obstruct the majority, and I think that is not right, and I will continue to insist on that democratic coalition, which has an over-half majority. I hope that we will reach a solution and get a new government after eight years of Fadil Novalić’s government,” Stojanović said after he was appointed one of the two vice-presidents of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the session of the House of Representatives today.
Legally, for the formation of the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is necessary to obtain the consent of the President and Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“There is no solution without some kind of agreement, except perhaps for Lendo to recognize the democratic majority and sign. At the moment, there is no legal solution,” said Stojanović.
He reminded that negotiations regarding programs and departments and the appointment of ministers have been going on for several months.
“You are all aware that the SDA was not at any time at that negotiation nor did it make any proposal on the program. Including them now, I think, is not certain at this moment,” said Stojanović.
