Students block Bridge and Three Intersections in Novi Sad

Students from the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Belgrade blocked the Gazela Bridge near the Sava Center with the intention of staying there for seven hours in an action called “We are trampling on the Gazela, because you are trampling on justice”.

The students put up billboards with roses and the names of those who died in Novi Sad 100 days ago, which is why this action was organized today, Beta reports.

They also unfurled banners such as “Everyone in the plenum, total self-government”, “Let the boulevards of the world remember the music of our steps”, “And Hitler ruled for 13 years”, “On both sides of the river, the city is ours”, “Munze wants konza” – in Šatrovci, Zemun wants justice, which is the favorite name of Zemun residents.

Farmers with several tractors who came from Zemun with the students, as well as motorcyclists, are also participating in the blockade of the bridge. A lot of noise is being created with whistles, horns, and there are also drummers.

Traffic police secured the route along which the column moved to Gazela, and traffic in both lanes on the bridge was suspended.

Likewise, in Novi Sad, blockades of three major intersections began at 11 a.m. today, which, according to the students, lasted until 2 p.m.

As the students said, the blockades are being carried out on the occasion of 100 days since the accident at the Railway Station in which 15 people died.

“One hundred days since the collapse of the canopy, 100 days of the fight for justice and responsibility, see you later, bring your whistles,” the students said in the call.

The intersection of Temerinska and Partizanska streets was blocked, i.e. the directions from Zrenjanin and Temerin towards Novi Sad.

Another location that was blocked was the roundabout at Bulevar Europe and Rumenačka streets, which blocked the roads towards the highway and Rumenca, i.e. further west towards Bačka Palanka. The third location is the main road in the town of Paragovo, which has blocked the road towards Iriški Venac.

Students and citizens in the blockades in Novi Sad have also been joined by farmers and motorcyclists, Fena writes.
