The former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, died today in the capital of Egypt, Cairo.
He will be remembered in our country as a person who publicly said that the UN is giving too much attention to the former Yugoslavia, and he also played a major role in the implementation of the arms embargo, which put the Army of B&H in a difficult position.
He will be also remembered as a person who did not prevent genocide in Srebrenica, a protected UN zone in July 1995.
President of the Association “Mothers of Srebrenica” said that she is sorry that Boutros Boutros – Ghali died, and was not brought to justice while he was still alive, because all the mothers of Srebrenica considered him for criminal.
“I am personally very sorry that he was not brought to justice for his crimes. I do not have my son because of him, together with other mothers of Srebrenica. We are searching for the bones of our loved ones to this day. Because of his moves, criminals who are walking freely were rewarded,” said Subasic.
Also, Subasic added that when the pillar of shame is made, name of Boutros Boutros-Ghali will be found together with criminals that are guilty for Srebrenica Genocide.
“He will find his name on the pillar of shame for his role in Srebrenica. He is criminal for all the mothers of Srebrenica,” said Subasic.
