Supervisor Crishock Insists on Full and Faithful Implementation of Brčko Final Award

The purchase by the Republika Srpska of a derelict casino in Brčko District, the so-called “Srpska kuća,” has led to claims that the Final Arbitral Award for Brčko has been violated or placed at risk.

The full and faithful implementation of the Final Arbitral Award and respect for the Statute of Brčko District remain the highest priorities of the Presiding Arbiter and the Brčko Supervisor. It is in the exclusive purview of the Presiding Arbiter and the Arbitral Tribunal to determine when and if the Final Award has been violated.

The Supervisor welcomes the recent joint statement by the leadership of Brčko District committing to the resolution of all issues in a responsible fashion, through dialogue, and in line with the dictates of the Final Award.

“Brčko District is a textbook example of successful multi-ethnic governance. Her leaders deserve our full support. Undermining their efforts through sensationalist statements is not in the interests of Brčko or Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
