Swedish Kavat to open Another Production Facility in BiH?

kavatSwedish company Kavat is expanding production in BiH, and they will soon have manufacturing facilities in Novi Travnik, in addition to the one in Travnik.

The company with a tradition in the production of footwear for children and young people that is more than 60 years long, is planning a multimillion investment in the industrial zone of Neobarje in Novi Travnik and hiring of about 150 workers, as confirmed by the municipality of Novi Travnik.

“Swedish company Kavat, based in Travnik for BH market, bought a plot in the Industrial and Service Area Neobarje from the municipality of Novi Travnik through the auction at the end of 2016. According to company representatives, the construction of a production plant is expected to start in March this year.

“It will most likely be phased investment and employment, depending on the installation of a production line of footwear and leather goods. According to representatives of the company, they will employ a total of 150 workers,” as said in the municipality.

About 98 % of shoes that Kavat produces in BiH goes to foreign markets, mainly in Scandinavian country areas, and some in Germany and Austria. In the municipality of Novi Travnik say that smaller percentage will be placed on the domestic market.

The company Kavat came to the BH market in 2009 with the opening of a factory in Travnik, which today has more than 140 employees.
