Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zoran Tegeltija talked yesterday in Sarajevo with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias about the current political and economic situation in BiH and the region, with an emphasis on the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Chairman Tegeltija expressed satisfaction with the visit of Minister Dendias, emphasizing that it represents a strong incentive for the improvement of cooperation and intensification of the dialogue between the two countries.

During the talks, Tegeltija said that the continuous support of Greece within the European Union in all subsequent phases of accession is important for BiH, and pointed out that he highly appreciates Greece’s efforts to point out the importance of EU enlargement to the countries of the Western Balkans.

Chairman Tegeltija emphasized that the Council of Ministers of BiH, with respect to the Constitution of BiH, the Dayton Agreement and the competencies of all levels of government in BiH, remains committed to European integration, assessing that this is the right path for economic and democratic development of society.

Speaking about the Covid-19 pandemic, the interlocutors expressed the expectation that the process of supplying vaccines through the Covax program will be stabilized as soon as possible, both within the EU and towards non-EU countries, and Minister Dendias emphasized his country’s readiness to assist BiH in this matter.

During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged opinions and experiences on current topics related to the problem of the migrant crisis, and pointed out the need to deepen economic cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest, the BiH Council of Ministers said in a press release.
