All students from Bosnia and Herzegovina won medals at the 27th Junior Balkan Mathematics Olympiad, of which one was gold, two were silver and three were bronze. As a team, they won third place, behind Turkey and Romania, which is the best result of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s teams ever.

As announced by the Sarajevo Canton Government, Vuk Janković won the gold medal and second place in the competition of 60 competitors. Only Damjan Davkov from North Macedonia was better than him, who is also the most successful competitor in the history of this Olympiad.

Silver medals were won by Stefan Maletić and Adnan Osmić, while bronze medals were won by Nermin Malićević, Iman Kurtović and Amila Pašić.

All students attended the Mathematics School for gifted students and mathematics camps organized by the Association of Mathematicians of Sarajevo Canton. Two of them are from Sarajevo Canton, two from Tuzla Canton and two from Republika Srpska. The team leaders were Admir Beširević and Marko Dimitrić.

The Sarajevo Canton Government congratulated the students, team leaders, teachers who worked with the students and parents.

These are mostly primary school and first grade high school students.

The Olympics were held in Albania this year, and the Canton Sarajevo was the host last year.
