The European Parliament asked the EU to impose Sanctions on Dodik

Today, the European Parliament voted a resolution in which they formally request the European Union to introduce sanctions against the President of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s entity Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik.

“The EP reiterates its call for the adoption of targeted sanctions against destabilizing actors in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH), including those who threaten its sovereignty and territorial integrity, especially Milorad Dodik,” states the text adopted in the form of an EP Resolution.

They called on all EU member states to ensure that the EU Council adopts such sanctions.

Comprehensive sanctions against Dodik were previously requested on January 12 by the representatives of the EP who deal directly with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Chairman of the Delegation of the European Parliament for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romeo Franc, and the permanent rapporteur of the European Parliament for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Paulo Rangel, in a joint statement condemned, as they say, the “unconstitutional celebration of the RS Day on January 9” and called for the introduction of sanctions against Dodik, Klix.ba reports.
