Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian says no attack has occurred in Isfahan to prompt Iran’s reaction.
Amirabdollahian said in an interview with NBC News on Friday night in New York, “What happened last night (Thursday night) was not a strike, and they were more like toys that our children play with – not drones.”
It has not been proved to us that there is a connection between the incident and the Israeli regime, he maintained, adding that Iran is investigating the matter and media speculations are not accurate.
The top Iranian diplomat who visits New York also underlined that as long as there is “no new adventurism by Israel against our interests, then we are not going to have any new reactions.”
“If Israel takes decisive action against my country and this is proven to us, our response will be immediate and to the maximum and will cause them to regret it,” he said.
Asked about the impact of the 2024 US presidential election on Iran’s policies, Amirabdollahian noted that there is no difference between Democrats and Republicans.
He noted that Iran will judge based on the US’s behavior, if its behavior is based on non-interference, respect for Iranians, and sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic, then, whatever the American people choose will be respected.
On the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he said that there has not been any tangible progress in reviving the deal during the Biden administration in comparison to the Trump administration.
As to developments in Gaza, the Iranian foreign minister noted that Hamas has proposed rational ideas, but the Israeli regime’s ambitions have been a stumbling block in the way of the negotiations by Qatari and Egyptian mediators to achieve any consensus and establish a ceasefire in the besieged strip, IRNA writes.
