The Israeli military said it had killed a senior Hamas commander, one of the militant organization’s top commanders, who helped plan the October 7 attack on Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said warplanes had struck Shadi Barud, the deputy head of Hamas’s intelligence service, based on “precise intelligence”, reports the BBC.

Releasing a video of the airstrike in which Baruda was allegedly killed, the IDF said Barud “planned the October 7 attacks together with Yahya Sinwar” – the head of Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

As the BBC further reports, they are currently unable to verify the statements of the Israeli army. Also, Hamas has not yet expressed itself on this issue and the claims of the Israeli army.

The Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip continued in the night behind us. As reported by Al Jazeera, and according to the latest information, several people were killed and injured in the second Israeli airstrike in which the mosque was destroyed, reports the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

The report said multiple strikes at dawn on Friday hit an area in the al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, destroying residential buildings and the nearby White Mosque.

The exact number of victims is currently unknown.
