The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik said today in Banja Luka, after meetings with the Chairperson of the BiH Council of Ministers Borjana Krišta and the Deputy Chairperson of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Dragan Čović, that they are in complete agreement that in Bosnia and Herzegovina, those issues on which there is agreement must be resolved.
Dodik pointed out that SNSD and HDZ BiH agree on the European path of BiH, stating that 14 priorities from the opinion of the European Commission should be put on the agenda and that it should be seen how consensus can be reached.
He emphasizes that there are different opinions regarding the NATO alliance and BiH’s entry into the Alliance, but that these two sides respect these different opinions.
Dodik expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of decision-making in the Council of Ministers, adding that what has been agreed so far has been respected and that it is necessary to find a model for the Council of Ministers to hold sessions with entity governments.
He also expects the rapid formation of the FBiH Government, and warns that if a bank does not want to finance projects in the RS, it will be against projects in the FBiH, which would be financed by the same bank, and that he expects discussions about this.
The eastern gas interconnection was also discussed, and the president of the RS states that it was agreed to continue to discuss in the coming days how to unblock the process.
Personnel issues were also discussed, as well as how to reach an agreed structure of the BiH budget.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples PSBiH and HDZ leader Dragan Čović expressed his belief after the meeting that a more pronounced dynamic will follow in the work of the Council of Ministers of BiH, and when it comes to 14 priorities, he believes that they can be put into the procedure through the Council of Ministers and Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“For us, the priority is to create an environment to have a budget at the BiH level, so that we can function normally,” he emphasized.
He informed Dodik about the process of forming the Government of the FBiH, assessing that there is no reason why the Government should not be established as soon as possible, announcing discussions with the representatives of the ‘Eight’ for tomorrow.
“I hope that within the Bosniak political scene there will be an understanding that this is a current political moment that needs to be followed, and that no one will benefit from any kind of blockade around FBiH. I am convinced that the HDZ with its partners will find enough wisdom to confirm the FBiH Government very soon at the House of Representatives,” stated Čović.
