The production of eggs and their export from BiH, according to the analyzes of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH (VTK BiH), are continuously growing.

In addition to the opening of new markets, such as Italy during 2022, the export of eggs for processing in 2023 increased by 80.9 percent in terms of quantity.

The value of egg exports last year was 8.9 million BAM, which is 14.92 percent more compared to 2022, while the value of egg imports was 7.2 million BAM, which is 42.63 percent more compared to to the year 2022.

The total quantitative export of eggs in 2023 increased by 11.6 percent, while the export of eggs for processing increased by 80.9 percent.

The total turnover of the foreign trade exchange of eggs in 2023 amounted to 16.1 million BAM, while the coverage of import by export amounted to more than one hundred percent. The export markets in the last year were: Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia and Italy, and most were imported from Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary and Ukraine.

“Looking at the entire export of the agro-industry, the financial results of the export of egg production do not stand out, however it is very significant that in this production the coverage of import by export is more than one hundred percent. Regardless of the fact that it is a small share in the total export of agro-industry, egg production is increasing year by year. The export of this sector would certainly increase by obtaining a permit for the export of table eggs as well,” according to VTKBiH.
