“The Result of the Vote on the Resolution on Srebrenica will not be humiliating for the Serbian People,” President says

In his address, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that there is no agreement even among the constituent nations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that it is unclear why such a violation of the Dayton Agreement is allowed. He pointed out that he was satisfied that he preserved the moral right to the attitude of the Serbian people.

“The General Assembly of the United Nations, for the first time in its history, was supposed to decide on something for which there is no consensus within the constituent nations of that country,” said Vučić.

Vučić stated that the passing of the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica serves “only to demand war reparations from Serbia and to review the proceedings against the already rendered verdict of the International Court in The Hague”.

“We will fight like David against Goliath, and we don’t even have a slingshot. We will fight with words and brave, firm positions, because we don’t have a greater sanctuary than Serbia,” said Vučić.

He stated “that the goal is not to bow one’s head and lay a flower”, but to reach legal and political consequences.

He said that for the first time, the resolution will not be adopted by outvoting, because “the largest number of freedom-loving countries understand what it is about”, although, as he says, some will vote with difficulty if they fully understand the geopolitical plan and idea in question.

Vučić also said that the results will not be humiliating for the Serbian people, and that the match will be uncertain, as well as that five or six countries changed their position due to the pressure they were under.

Vučić said that he organized numerous meetings in New York, that he met with 22 presidents and prime ministers around the world, with six UN officials, with representatives of 111 UN countries.

“I have no problem being exposed to a lynching that no politician has been exposed to in several previous decades because I fight for my people, justice and truth because I want to prevent wars and crimes in the future due to irresponsible politics,” said Vučić.

He said that he expects that there will be a session of the UN Security Council on the resolution on Srebrenica on May 9, and a vote in the General Assembly on the Sunday between May 11 and 16, RTS writes.
