Turnout in the Elections in Russia exceeded 60 Percent

The total turnout in the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, including remote electronic voting, at 9:45 a.m. Moscow time was 61.37 percent, said the president of the Central Election Commission, Ela Pamfilova.

She added that since the start of voting, 280,000 DDoS attacks on the online voting system have been blocked.

Today is the third and last day of presidential elections in Russia. To date, more than half of citizens have gone to the polls, the turnout at the end of the second day was 58.75 percent.

These are the first presidential elections in which residents of the new Russian regions ─ Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson Oblasts also vote.

The first voters went to the polling stations on Friday, March 15 in the Far East, after which polling stations began to gradually open throughout the country.

Citizens choose between four candidates – in addition to the current president Vladimir Putin, the list of candidates also includes the leader of the right-wing Liberal Democratic Party /LDPR/ Leonid Slutsky, the leader of the communists Nikolai Kharitonov, as well as Vladislav Davankov, who represents the liberal-centrist party “New People”, reminded is “Sputnik”.
