The Service for Foreigners’ Affairs, based on the collected operational information, has received information that two citizens of the Russian Federation from the territory of Chechnya have entered the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The mentioned persons have been marked as of security interest and are linked to terrorism, thus representing a potential threat to national security, the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs announced.

In cooperation with the Intelligence and Security Agency, an urgent and coordinated operational action was carried out with the aim of locating and placing the mentioned persons under surveillance. Through operational work, the persons were very quickly identified and found in the Sarajevo area, after which, in accordance with applicable regulations, they were imposed a surveillance measure and ordered to be placed in the Immigration Center in East Sarajevo. After completing all legally prescribed procedures, on October 17, 2025, the mentioned persons were removed from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Service for Foreigners’ Affairs will continue to take all legally prescribed measures and actions in the coming period, in cooperation with the competent security agencies, with the aim of preserving national security and protecting citizens – the statement states.
