The Serbian company “Srbinjeputevi”got a concession from the Government of Republika Srpska for the construction and use of two small hydropower plants on the Bjelava and Mala Bjelava rivers in Foca municipality.

As stated in the decision, the concession is granted for a period of 50 years, and the concessionaire is obliged to pay 258,039 BAM on the basis of the transferred right, on to the conclusion of the contract.

On the other hand, every kWh produced, they will pay 0.0055 BAM.

The total power of these facilities is 2.52 megawatts with an estimated annual production of 10.19 gigawatts. The estimated value of the investment is 8.6 million BAM.

Nedeljko Pavlovic, director of the company, said that the deadline for the construction of these plants is three years. They will start building of access roads soon.

“I think that we can fulfill the works until the deadline. We can finish all the rough work with our own mechanization, and our cooperators will take care of the rest. Money is secured,” Pavlovic said.

He says the process in the hydropower plants is automatized and will not require new employment, but adds that a large number of new jobs will be open on the construction itself.
