USA Embassy: We Are Concerned With the Decision of RS Government

Ambasada_SAD_USA Embassy in Sarajevo expressed the concern due to to the decision of RS government on the exercise of checking the accuracy and truthfulness of the data when applying for the permanent residence in the RS territory.

They state that they have not yet had the opportunity to see the decision text:

“We are concerned because this decision seems to be one sided, not a constructive activity from the RS side in terms of residence. Residence is a sensitive issue which is regulated by the state law”, said for Klix.ba the PR Office of USA Embassy in Sarajevo, and added:

“We support the efforts on finding a solution on this issue at the state level and we call on B&H lawmakers to achieve consensus in their work in regard to any amendments to the law on residence and to take into account the civil rights that are guaranteed to B&H citizens.

RS Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović said that this decision has a temporary character and was adopted because the law on residence can not wait, whether is about RS or at the B&H level.
