air-pollution-sarajevoAs of tomorrow morning at 7 am, only vehicles which have uneven number as the last number on their license plates will be allowed to operate at the territory of the Sarajevo Canton, confirmed the Minister of Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of the Sarajevo Canton Čedomir Lukić.

Lukić said that the Operational Headquarters met today and signed a decision on the declaration of the third episode of alert.

“One of the measures that this episode includes is the use of motor vehicles by the principle even-uneven. Tomorrow at 7 am this limitation will be on force first for vehicles with an even number, and then in the coming days the limitation will switch to uneven numbers at midnight,” said Lukić.

Lukić added that these limitations will be on force as long as the situation with air pollution stays like this. In other words, this means that vehicles whose license plates end with numbers 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 cannot operate on the streets, and as of midnight the limitation will refer to license plates with an uneven number at the end.

This measure excludes vehicles of police, Ministry of Defense, public transportation, utility enterprises, vehicles with diplomatic license plates, vehicles of emergency services, as well as vehicles for delivery of food and medicines.
