Vucic: I am not a Supporter of imposed Decisions, but we must build fraternal Relations with Bosniaks

During his guest appearance on Pink Television, Aleksandar Vucic, the President of Serbia, commented on the move of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Valentin Inzko, who forbade the denial of the genocide in Srebrenica by imposing amendments to the law.

Unexpectedly, Vucic “played it safe”, and his narrative was significantly different from the one we could hear from Milorad Dodik the past two days. Even though he did not clearly say that there was genocide in Srebrenica, he stated that Serbia has respect towards the Srebrenica victims.

“I have not yet received an analysis from all our legal experts on these amendments to the law, but it is important that we show reverence for the Srebrenica victims at all times. We have all done things we do not always have to be proud of. I think the future of relations between Serbs and Bosniaks is crucial. That is why we will have to talk, respect each other, and not look at how to stab each other in the back,” he told.

Also, he emphasized that “he wants to build not only friendly but also fraternal relations with Bosniaks in the future.”

“I know that it is very difficult to talk to Bosniaks whenever you mention Srebrenica, just as it is difficult for us to talk when it comes to some other issues, but we have to open that dialogue. We share space with Bosniaks in BiH and Serbia. That is why we have to build the best possible relations, ” noted Vucic.

While commenting on Inzko’s move, Vucic concluded that he was not a supporter of “imposed and forced decisions because they never brought anything good, but only division”, but that peace must be preserved and that we must look to the future, Klix.ba writes
