What is the Number of Persons who emigrated from the Former Yugoslavia to Germany?

Dejan Kovac, a Croatian economist and former candidate for president of Croatia, announced that more than two million people emigrated to Germany from the former Yugoslavia, which makes up 10 percent of the entire emigrant population in Germany.

Kovac emphasizes that the figure of two million is actually an underestimation of the number of people who left the former Yugoslavia for Germany, and that the real figure is much higher.

As problems in determining, he determined what should be measured, whether persons of national origin, and then the rate of naturalization or the number of persons who take German citizenship.

Another problem is the second generation of migrants, ie. children living in a household with their parents who themselves have only German citizenship, and the third problem is people with short-term contracts and people who are returnees.

He stated that the returnees were after the war, but that since 2000 it has not been a decline due to returnees, but a decline due to naturalization because our people became Germans.

“Let’s thank for this, all previous governments, and especially Milanovic, Kolinda, Vucic, Plenkovic, Dodik, Izetbegovic and their moms and dads – political and real. First you displaced people with nationalism and war, and then you displaced so much more with corruption “Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Only when everyone leaves, I don’t know who will give you for salaries …”, concluded Kovac.

According to a chart published by Kovac, 373,000 migrants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, 426,845 migrants from Croatia and 330,000 from Serbia-Montenegro live in Germany, Klix.ba writes.
