What is the Number of Visas issued by Embassies of BiH all over the World?

At the proposal of the Ministry of Security, the Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Migration profile of BiH for the year of 2017.

This is the 10th Migration profile with which the Council of Ministers of BiH fulfils one of the obligations in the process of liberalization of visa regime on an annual level and provides insight into some of the main trends when it comes to migration.

In the Migration profile was stated that BH diplomatic and consular missions issued a total of 28,751 visas last year, which represents an increase of 25 % when compared to the year of 2016. A total of 57 visas were issued at the border of BiH, which is by 15 % less than in the year of 2016, with which the decreasing trend of issuing visas at the border was continued.

Last year, our border police refused a total of 2,313 entries in BiH, which represents an increase of 3.1 % in comparison to the previous year, while the number of illegal border crossings amounted to 766 and it is three times bigger than in the year of 2016, when 218 entries were rejected from BiH.

The trend of decrease of issuing temporary residence of foreigners in BiH was continued, and 11,372 of them were approved in 2017, in comparison to 11,519 temporary residences in 2016 and 12,633 of them in the year of 2015.

Last year, a total of 927 decisions on expulsion from country were issued as well, which is a significant increase in comparison to the year earlier when a total of 418 of them were issued. A total of 860 foreigners were put under the surveillance in the Immigration Center in the year of 2017, which represents an increase of 176.5 % when compared to the previous year.

In accordance with readmission agreements, a total of 1.485 BH citizens were accepted in 2017.

A total of 667 people received the citizenship of BiH last year, which is by 2.2 % less in comparison to the previous year, and the majority of BH citizenship, i.e. 97% of them, were given to citizens of Serbia and Croatia.
