Who will be the Honorary Citizen of Canton Sarajevo?

13059287_1760435440859799_2118567408_nRussian chess grandmaster and, according to many, one of the greatest chess playersa of all time, Garry Kasparov, is the candidate for the public recognition Honorary Citizen of CS 2015. This was confirmed by Sejo Bukva, chairman of the Committee on Public recognition of CS, who held a session yesterday.

In the explanation of the decision was stated, according to Bukva, that Kasparov performed for Chess Club “Bosna” in difficult times and helped the Canton.

Besides public recognition for the Honorary Citizen, at yesterday’s session of the Committee were proposed candidates for the award of public recognition Plaque of CS, which is awarded to individuals and collectives, and might be awarded posthumously.

“Because of the great dilemmas that we had this year, we decided to award two individuals with the Plaque of CS. Proposed candidates are prominent journalist Senad Hadzifejzovic and Nijaz Hastor, businessman and founder of the Foundation ” Hastor, ”said Bukva.

Cadet basketball team of BiH was proposed for the winners of the Plaque of CS among collectives.

“We had a lot of candidates in this category, but there is no doubt for these guys. They are champions of the Europe, 50,000 people were on their welcome party in Sarajevo and they are responsible for the promotion of the country. We proposed Davorin Popovic for the Plaque posthumously, the legendary singer who deserved to win this award,” said Bukva.
