Will BiH introduce additional Testing for Foreigners?

Several countries have introduced or are introducing measures for travelers from China, due to the new situation with the coronavirus pandemic.

France and Great Britain are the last in a series of countries that will adopt such measures, and the United States of America should do so today. These countries will require from Chinese travelers a negative coronavirus test, not older than two days.

The measures were previously adopted by: India, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Spain and Italy, while many European countries, such as Germany and Austria, oppose such a move.

Institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina do not yet intend to adopt measures for additional testing of passengers from China or some other countries.

As the spokesperson of the BiH Ministry of Security, Admir Malagić, said, the ministry has not yet received a proposal for the introduction of new measures, i.e. conditions for the entry of foreigners into BiH.

“The moment we receive such a proposal from the competent institutions, we will forward it to the BiH Council of Ministers for adoption. Some institutions are already considering such a possibility, but we will have to wait to see in which direction we will act,” said Malagić.

The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) assessed that the introduction of mandatory testing for “Covid-19” for travelers coming from China is “unjustified” because the variants circulating in China are already circulating in Europe.
