Who will represent BiH at the Red Bull Basket Tournament in Belgrade?

160916027-3_xlFinale of the competition Red Bull King of the Rock will be held in Belgrade today and colors of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be defended by Damir Palata from Sarajevo. Prior to his departure to Belgrade, one of the most successful BiH national team players Džanan Musa supported the BiH representative.

World finale of the competition Red Bull King of the Rock will be held at the courts of Basketball Club Crvena Zvezda at Mali Kalemegdan in Belgrade. That will be the seventh finale of this most famous one-on-one basket tournament.

Red Bull King of the Rock is played one-on-one. The duel lasts for five minutes and time for attack is limited to 15 seconds. Players shoot for two and three points. What makes this competition different than other competitions is the duel game which allows more contact than classic basketball. That should not be surprising, since the roots of this sport can be followed back to the most famous prison in the world – Alcatraz, where the first finale of this competition was held.

Džanan Musa supported the BiH representative Palata. The best young basketball player of Europe wished Damir a lot of luck at the final tournament in Belgrade. Damir will certainly need luck, especially in the draw, in order to avoid the main favorites in the first round – including Kavinc Dinler from Turkey, who will be defending titles won in previous two years. As Damir says, if the draw has mercy for him at the beginning, who knows – maybe the finale is not that far away either.
