Works on the Section Zvirovici – Pocitelj on Corridor 5C to start soon

corridor-5cWorks on the continuation of construction of the motorway through Herzegovina are expected to start soon, as confirmed by the PE Highways of the FBiH.

“Sections in the south Pocitelj – Zvirovici and bridge Pocitelj are those on which the tender procedure is finalized and soon can be expected assigning of the contract and the start of work on these sections,” as stated from the Highways of the FBiH.

As previously mentioned, the works in this section are financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB). The total value of the works on these two sections is a little over 100 million EUR, and the length of the section is 11.07 kilometers.

“Major facilities that will be built on this section are three bridges, tunnel, loop, Toll Collection Point and connection to the M17,” as stated from the PE Highways of the FBiH.

It is interesting to add that the bridge Pocitelj is one of the most complex buildings, and bridges on the entire Corridor 5C.

“Bridge Pocitelj is a colossal building with the length of 945 meters and a maximum height above the ground of 100 meters, with the structure among the pillars of 147 meters,” as said from the PC Highways of the FBiH.

They emphasize that the construction of subsection Pocitelj – Zvirovici is necessary to redirect the traffic from the main road M17 on the motorway towards Bijaca.
